This patient was not happy with the look of her upper denture, or her lower teeth and could not wear her lower partial denture. This case was completed with a combination of a new Upper Denture, Short Term Orthodontics, Veneers, and Implants with crowns. Now the patient is not only happy with her smile, but she can also chew as she did prior to losing her back teeth.

Please read below about the many uses of Dental Implants, if you have any questions please feel free to call our office at (239) 454-1150. Dr. Dilling would be happy to discuss how Dental Implants could benefit you and develop a specific treatment plan for your needs.

People lose teeth due to Dental Caries (Cavities), Periodontal Disease (Gum Disease), and trauma. Dental implants have changed the treatment options that dentists have to restore your mouth's form and function. Dental implants are the closest restoration to having your natural teeth back, something that was not possible a few years ago. Dr. Dilling works with dental specialist's close to his office to develop a treatment plan that best suits your needs. Once the implant(s) have been placed Dr. Dilling is able to restore the implant with a crown, Bridge, or removable denture to restore your missing teeth.  Please read below the different ways dental implants and Dr. Dilling can improve your quality of life.

Full Mouth Implants/ Dentures

Anyone that has ever had to wear a denture understands that a denture only has the look of actual teeth. Dentures are supported by the soft tissues in your mouth and they move and rock as you try to speak and/or eat. Above are two examples of how dental implants can significantly improve the function of complete dentures. The first picture is an example of six implants and a bar that a denture can attach. The second picture shows four implants the denture can snap onto and retain the denture. There are many different treatment plans now available for patients that have lost all of the teeth, Dr. Dilling can give you options that will fit your life and budget.

Missing a Single Tooth

If you are missing a single tooth, that tooth can be replaced with a single implant without disturbing the adjacent teeth. This is a big step forward from the past where the adjacent teeth were also prepared for restoration to support the missing tooth. Now a single tooth problem can remain a single tooth problem. Once the implant has integrated with the bone, Dr. Dilling will place a very natural looking crown on the implant in order to restore the form and function of your mouth.

Patients that are missing several teeth in one area of the mouth can also benefit from dental implants. Several implants can be placed in the arch and then they can be "Bridged" together with a fixed bridge that looks and functions as natural teeth. The picture above shows a very difficult situation to restore back to full function before dental implants were being utilized.
